About me
Matthew Mayo is in his third year as Instrumental Music Director at Mount Desert Island High School in Bar Harbor, Maine, where he leads Symphonic Band, Pep Band, Chamber Ensembles, and assists with Jazz Bands. He is passionate about developing innovative curricula that expand student opportunities in performance and music technology. A graduate of the University of Maine at Orono, Matthew brings extensive experience in marching, concert, and jazz settings as both a director and performer. He also composes and arranges for various ensembles and actively seeks new approaches to inspire creativity and growth in today’s music classroom.
