Elite Jazz Combo Performance, Communication, and Interplay

Featuring advanced improvisation by Ryan Blotnick (guitar), Chris Gagne (trombone) and Aaron Henry (sax), this session will demonstrate how musicians interact with each other in a combo setting. Often times in a jazz combo, students think of the group as a vehicle for one instrument to solo while the others "back them up." In this session, we'll discuss how to have a more focus on on advancing communication between members, motivic development, and interplay within the group.
