Ellen Shuler (BA, MME Music Education) is in her second year of building an amazing music program at Kents Hill School in Kents Hill, ME. Prior to moving to Maine, Ms. Shuler was the Chair of the Performing Arts at the University School of Milwaukee, as well as the 5-12 choral director and Musical Theatre music director. She was awarded the Jerry Award for Best Music Director for “Addams Family” and “Little Shop of Horrors” While in Wisconsin, Ms. Shuler won the Outstanding Middle Level Choir Director Award from Wisconsin Choral Director’s Association and was awarded the Choral Teacher of Excellence from the Milwaukee Civic Music Society. Ms. Shuler was founder and director of Milwaukee’s Bel Canto Boy Choir and director of the Milwaukee Children's Choir. An active member of WCDA, Ms. Shuler was the Repertoire and Standards Chair for Children's Choirs for 12 years and was guest conductor for festivals around the greater Milwaukee area. She worked for several years as a choral music editor at Hal Leonard Corporation, where she was a contributing author to the Macmillan McGraw-Hill music education series, “Spotlight on Music” and "Music Express" magazine. .
