About me
"Aaron Henry is director of bands at Yarmouth HS and faculty in jazz saxophone at USM in Portland ME. He has performed at venues from Lincoln Center, The Blue Note, and Birdland to international jazz festivals, with artists including Dave Liebman, Miguel Zenon, Antonio Sanchez, and Esperanza Spalding, and is a member of Grammy-winning composer Mehmet Ali Sanlikol’s ensemble What’sNext?. Aaron received his M.M. in Studio Composition from SUNY Purchase, and his B.M. in Performance from The Berklee College of Music as a recipient of the Charlie Parker Award for Woodwind Excellence, studying with Joe Lovano, George Garzone, Hal Crook, Dino Govoni, and Shannon Leclaire. Aaron teaches, records, and performs regularly around New England.
